Family Tree

Mockingbird Hill, Chime Bells Ringing, playing my guitar we’re all singing
“Have a little talk with Jesus”, and “A Closer Walk With Thee”.
My Uncle playing the piano, big smile shining like and early country morning
Oh how I miss those Days.

Wish you could have heard my family sing
Heard those harmonies floating on the summer breeze
A portrait of that moment is etched upon my mind
The fiber of my memories-Pictures that come back to me
Oh they're carved on my family tree

Still remember what the doctor said, “You have a son and he’s ok!
Would you like to hold him know?”
I looked into his clear blue eyes, my heart was full and I cried
When we met the very first time

Wish you could have heard my heart sing
As I celebrated new life and the joy it brings
A portrait of that moment is etched upon my mind
The fiber of my memories-Pictures that come back to me
Oh they're carved on my family tree

I still recall what the preacher said, “Close your eyes and bow your head,
It’s time for us to pray.”
Ran from my chair down to the altar they baptized me in the cleansing water
Jesus washed me white as snow

Wish you could have heard the angels sing
When I gave my heart to Jesus and tasted heavens rain
A portrait of that moment is etched upon my mind
The fiber of my memories-Pictures that come back to me
Oh they're carved on my family tree
